SmoothStar is happy to announce that we will be running a brand new surf competition especially for Micro Groms. Its a perfect fit for SmoothStar to be supporting the up and coming talent of junior surfing in Australia. We’ve been supporting junior for surfing for over 10 years so it only makes sense to have our own surfing competition.

We’ve partnered with Surfing Victoria who have a really great junior surfing development program and are also dedicated to junior surfing. They will have pro surfers who will help the groms during the contest, including: technique correction, heat strategy and assessing the surf conditions. On top of that we’ll be giving $500 prize money for 2 divisions – Under 14 Boys & Under 14 Girls.

The comp will be held at Ocean Grove, Victoria. Groms will also have the ability to test ride all the SmoothStar models before their surf heat.

A highlight of the competition will be the U8 mixed surfers who are allowed to be pushed into the waves by their parents. Seeing little groms with big smiles on their faces will be epic for sure!
